Does my hamster have fleas/ticks/other infestation? HELP!!!?

i was cleaning my hamsters cage the other day i noticed tiny bugs in his wood house, this conserned me so i put the house in a plastic bag and made a makeshift house for him out of a graham cracker box. ive noticed he scrathces at his sides with his hind legs and bites at his sides, what could this be? the bugs are really tiny, smaller than a gnat, i could barely see them at all, what are they, do i need to treat him? and if so, with what do you suggest. im begging you please answer im scared for him!!!!
