I need a first and last name for a detective in the 30's?

Like Tracy, but alot darker. I need a noir fiction character that I can name my animation after. He's the main character so his name needs to stand out. However it has to be original and believable. Be creative. If you can't come up with a first name, that's fine, just a last name will do.
