How to pull a flywheel off a 1989 yamaha wave runner?

I have a 1989 j500a yamaha wave runner that i want to pull the flywheel off so i can replace the stator . i've tried using a puller but it is either stuck or i haven't taken something lose that i should . Is there anything other than the main flywheel nut that must be remover to take the flywheel off ?
