Is ity an evolutionary trait?

Some people say that uality is merely a transgression from what is "morally right." They refer to it as a mutation of some sort. Others argue that ity is due to some traumatic psychological incident which occurred in one's adolescent. I personally think it's an evolutionary trait. What about you guys?
