One of my closets friend just told me he was gay ?

Okay, minutes ago I was talking to one of my closets friends, and outta nowhere he brought up a topic about Prop 8 here in Cali, its about Gay Marriege and all. And randomly he asked, "do you think gay people should be allowed to be together?" And I was like "I don't really care, as long as I don't see em makin out in front of my face". And then, outta nowhere he was like "Oh well tahts good because im gay". And he really was. I was very surprised. Hes a cool dude, and I do wanna talk to him some more, but I sure hope I don't turn gay. I'm currently seeing a girl right now, we're not going out yet though. But can a straight guy and a gay guy just be friends? And maybe not rub hes gayness on me?
