UK's Kennel Club is amending breed standards . . . . ?
The problem is that the kennel club, and breeders have not held true to the original standards of individual breeds, in many cases characteristics that were over emphasised have now become almost deformaties and the KC is getting back to the original form and reducing some of the more extreeme shapes that breeders have developed. There is no way that a creature such as the current British Bull dog represents anything like the animal it was derived from, It has taken too long for the KC to realise that what they have created are a set of animals who live their lives in pain just to conform to some breeders perception of beauty and conformance - so in fact the KC are actually directly responsible for perverting dog shapes and forms - look at the Peke, it can hardly breath, so replacing the standards is a very positive move and not conformance to ignorant pressure. I suggest you look at the dogs around you and note that it is only the cross breeds which seem to be healthy, certainly not the pedigree dogs. As for Rayvans answer about cropping ears and docking tails - are you really stating that in order for a dog to be beautiful it is necessary to physically cut off its tail and trim the shape of its natural ears with a knife - boy you are one sick person.
