What can it mean if i dreamed my dad got shot when he opened my front door?

apparently in my dream he knew the threat but opened the door carelessly anyways, and i was upstairs and he ws collapsing and i brought him to my room and he could only speak softly and weak..i bandaged his chest up and even though hewas shot, it wasn't a deep wound..
