Which is more eco-friendly: dishwashing and hand-washing of dishes?

It depends on the amount of dishes being washed. If there is a large amount of dishes then the dishwasher is more eco-friendly. For a small amount of dishes hand washing can be more eco-friendly. Dishwashers have become very efficient in the use of water, detergents and electricity.
